Child & Family Studies (B.S.):
Child Development Concentration
These students study theories about the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of children and apply these theories to in-depth observations of children. After child development theory, students learn to plan environments, programs, and materials which foster optimal growth and develpment of young children. As seniors, students gain experience integrating theory and practice by working in the nationally accredited Burrier Child Development Center.
Job Opportunities
- Teach or direct private early childhood programs
- Head Start, profit or non-profit child care/agencies, and family resource centers
- Education coordinator in private early childhood facilities
