Fashion Design Studio
The ADM fashion design studio houses 17 professional sewing machines and stations for student and classroom use. The computerized Bernina sewing machines are versatile for a variety of fashion creations, and offer maximum functionality for precision of design. Students are introduced to the sewing machines in ADM 102: Introductory Apparel Production, where basic principles of apparel production; selection alteration, and fitting of commercial patterns are studied. The machines are used in every ADM fashion design-related course.
The ADM program recently acquired a state of the art Brother 10-Needle Embroidery Machine used for instruction, student projects, and commissionable items. Popular with small business owners, the machine features multi-color design options and precise edging for embroidering logos, monograms, and other designs. ADM students learn advanced techniques for the creation and stitching of designs and logos for special embroidery projects. The embroidery machine is also used in design-related ADM courses to prepare students for real-world sewing applications and techniques.
Our fashion studio additionally houses supplies necessary for the creative fashion designer- men, women, and children’s dress forms in a variety of sizes; irons and ironing boards; paper patterns; and notions.
